Barone Pizzini – “Rose” Franciacorta DOCG - 2016
Soldout
$840.00

Barone Pizzini is one of the oldest wineries in Franciacorta and was the first estate in the appellation to produce a Franciacorta.

Franciacorta was recognized as an official Italian appellation in 1967 and in 1971 the winery first bottle of Barone Pizzini Franciacorta was made.

Barone Pizzini was one of the earlier pioneers adopting organic viticulture in the 1990s, in 2001 the process began for the organic certification in the vineyard. The winemaking team at Barone Pizzini has remained faithful to its belief that chemical-free farming is essential to the production of high-quality wines.

In 2007, a new ‘bioarchitecture’ winery was designed with a view to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to a minimum .

In 2015 the winery obtained Biodiversity Friend Certificate, the first farming biodiversity certification.

Tasting Notes:

Made from grapes grown in vineyards that lie on the edge of the woods, this sensual and idyllic expression of Pinot Noir is transformed into notes of underbrush, currant, and blueberry together with hints of black cherry in the glass.

The structure and balance of this wine are interwoven in a lingering tension between itsrich flavour and acidity.

Grape:

Chardonnay, Pinot Noir

Serving suggestions:

Serve between 6-8°

Pairings:

Goes especially well with oily fish such as smoked salmon and Ocean trout
