Autréau de Champillon – Premeir Cru Brut
Soldout
$198.00

The Autréau story began in 1670 in the village of Champillon, where the family began to grow grapes on their estate, these grapes were sold to major houses and negociants. In 1953, Gerald Autréau decided to keep the grapes to produce Champagne on his own.

The vineyard is situated in the heart of the Champagne appellation, with its hillsides overlooking the city of Epernay.

Now in its third generation, the family still collaborate to create Grands Crus and 1er Crus.

Aware of the stakes of climate change, they have transitioned towards sustainable viticulture. Autréau is currently a member of the Magister Network.

Tasting Notes:

A strong gold colour with fine salmon glints. Deep aromas in which fresh fruits dominate with a hint of hazelnut. The taste and finesse or this champagne is full bodied and pleasant due to the heavy fruit.

Grape:

Pinot Noir (40 %), Pinot Meunier (40%) which give it personality and Chardonnay (20 %) which give it daintiness.

Serving suggestions:

Fill an ice bucket half with ice and half with water, then chill your champagne for twenty five minutes, ideally around 5-9°. Don't forget chill the glasses too.

Pairings:

All opportunities especially seafood, but this well balanced Champagne is recommended for aperitifs and cocktails.
